Entrepreneurship - Micro-Credential. 18 ECTS, English-taught

This autumn, Bifröst University will introduce a new micro-credential program; Entrepreneurship. The program gives 18 ECTS credits, structured around three 6-credit courses delivered over the autumn semester. It is designed for individuals interested in the Icelandic startup ecosystem, innovation, or those looking to pursue higher education. Applicants must have completed a matriculation examination, preparatory university studies, or equivalent qualifications.

The program is open to everyone but is specifically designed for those who have not yet acquired proficiency in Icelandic, and is therefore taught in English. This initiative is a new development at Bifröst University and is intended as a bridge to help immigrants begin their university studies.

The program is taught by a dynamic trio: Arnar Sigurðsson, Fida Abu Libdeh, and Michael Hendrix. While each brings a distinct background, they all share deep, hands-on experience in entrepreneurship and startup development.

• Arnar is a specialist in innovation and a co-founder of the startup Austan Mána (East of Moon).
• Fida, founder and CEO of GeoSilica, is a respected lecturer in the field of business studies.
• Michael is an American designer and professor who has lived in Iceland for many years. He is a former executive at IDEO and the founder of Huldunótur.

Upon completion of the program, students will possess the core competencies necessary to engage meaningfully in Iceland’s entrepreneurial environment.

The three courses are developed in collaboration with the Iceland University of the Arts with support from the University Cooperation Fund, which is managed by the Ministry of Higher Education, Science and Innovation. The courses fall under the academic direction of the creative industries programme at Bifröst University.
