Accommodation: Student apartments are located in four different locations in Rovaniemi: Ounasvaara Kuntotie area (3 km from the University), Rantavitikka and Anninportti (near the University), Rovala, close to the city centre (3 km from the University) and Asemarinne (near the railway station).

The monthly rent for a room in a flat shared by two or three persons ranges from 190€ to 320€ per person.

Useful information:

  • Rovaniemi is a city that is in the North of Finland and also the capital of Lapland – it is located 10 km south of the Arctic Circle
  • The university has a Student Union (LYY) which also includes the ESN Lapland – they organise events and parties and also offers a newspaper and sport activities
  • The living costs are between 570€ and 880€ per month
  • In Rovaniemi you can find excellent recreational facilities, as well as vibrant social and cultural activities – a must have seen is the Arktikum
  • Excellent summer and winter activities such as hiking, fishing, trekking, kayaking, skiing – also special activities such as husky and reindeer safaris or snowmobile tours
  • In the Rovaniemi are several national parks and also a wildlife park, furthermore you can enjoy pure nature or you just visit Santa Claus in Santa Claus Village
  • There is also some nightlife going on – several bars, clubs and discos promise an eventful night out
  • Several shopping centres are home to Rovaniemi and offer a range of different shops and boutiques for every possible need
