Centre for Creative Industries

The primary role of the Centre for Creative Industries is to promote research into the cultural and creative industries, with particular emphasis on their wide-ranging social and economic impact. Culture and artistic creation have undeniable social value, while the creative industries are also an important driver of economic growth.

The Centre for Creative Industries (RSG) was established in 2023. Its founding institutions are Bifröst University, the University of Iceland, the University of Akureyri, Iceland University of the Arts and Hólar University. The Centre’s board comprises representatives from the five universities, as well as representatives from the Federation of Icelandic Creative Industries and the Ministry of Culture, Innovation and Higher Education, which also appoints the Chair of the Board.

The Centre for Creative Industries is administered by Bifröst University. Further information is available on the Research Centre’s website.
