Library
Welcome to the website of the University Library at Bifröst
The library offers all the standard services of an academic library. Here you will find instructions on accessing electronic books and scholarly articles, detailed guidelines on working with sources, how to search for reliable and peer-reviewed sources, and much more.
The role of the library is to support learning, teaching, and research by providing access to electronic resources in the university's academic fields. Since 2018, there has been a focus on purchasing e-books over printed materials.
Search – Find – Evaluate: Course in Information Literacy
This is a course for university students and anyone else who wants to improve their information literacy skills. It is an important addition to the information literacy training already offered by the libraries. Here you will learn how to look for information, evaluate it, and use it responsibly.
Student Services
The aim is to provide students at the university with the fastest and best service possible. Emphasis is placed on electronic resources whenever possible, but the service also includes obtaining books through interlibrary loans. In such cases, the book is ordered from another university library, and students in the capital area have the option of picking up books themselves.
Unfortunately, printed books owned by the library cannot be loaned out during 2025–2026.
