Entrepreneurship for New Icelanders

The Micro-Credential in Entrepreneurship is an 18 ECTS programme taught in English that responds to the growing need for educational pathways bridging immigrants and people who do not speak Icelandic as their first language into higher education.

The programme is specifically designed for people who do not have Icelandic as their native language and aims to support participants in entering higher education as well as Iceland’s innovation and entrepreneurial environment.

The programme is taught online and consists of three courses totaling 18 ECTS credits: Entrepreneurship and Innovation, Entrepreneurship in Iceland, and Design Thinking. The emphasis is on a practical approach where students work with idea development, design thinking, business planning, funding strategies, and pitching projects.

The instructors are Fida Abu Libdeh, Arnar Sigurðsson, and Michael Hendrix, all of whom have extensive experience in entrepreneurship and innovation.

The micro-credential has been developed in collaboration with the Iceland University of the Arts and the South Centre in Breiðholt, with support from the University Collaboration Fund. The programme is a joint project between Bifröst University and the Iceland University of the Arts.

A special introductory meeting with the programme instructors and academic coordinators will be held on Friday, May 15, from 12:00–13:00.
