Academic Faculties
Bifröst University offers degree programmes within the Faculties of Business and of Social Sciences and Law. The University also operates a Faculty of Preparatory Studies (“The University Gateway”) for students who do not meet the minimum admission requirements for undergraduate programmes, as well as a continuing education programme offering shorter courses and professionally oriented studies.
Responsibilities
The faculties are responsible for academic policy development and the organisation and quality of study programmes within their respective fields. Heads of Faculty provide academic leadership within their faculties and are responsible for professional matters, including quality assurance.
Each faculty has a Faculty Board consisting of the Head of Faculty, one faculty member appointed by the faculty’s academic staff, and one student appointed by the faculty’s student association. The Faculty Board serves in an advisory capacity to the Head of Faculty.
