Department of Business

The Department of Business is the oldest department at Bifröst University. The Department of Business offers diverse study programmes at both the undergraduate and graduate levels. The objective of business administration studies at Bifröst University is for students to build and advance their business careers, enabling them to harness their initiative and independence in positions of responsibility and leadership.

Business study programmes aim for students to enhance their knowledge and expertise in the field of business, while working on real-life projects and assignments. Undergraduate students have the option of completing internships as part of their studies, and students carry out term projects in collaboration with businesses and institutions.

The Bifröst learning module is very hands-on, where students practice their skills through project-based learning, particularly with the yearly term-projects (in the undergraduate studies), where students collaborate in groups on a real time project (see further information about Bifröst University’s Teaching Policy here).

The degrees are mainly taught in Icelandic – however, international undergraduate students can take a semester at Bifröst University, which has bilateral agreements (Erasmus) with many universities throughout Europe (see here). In addition, students (both undergraduate and postgraduate) can do internships with companies and institutions as a part of their degrees.

The academic year starts in the end of August. The Department of Business offers the following study programmes:
