Icelandic as Second Language A.2.1. first part

This course is a part of the Icelandic as second language program. You can take a single course or continue in the program. 

This course is at level A.2.2 on the European language framework and is the first of two courses at this level.

Practical information 

The course is instructed online. Flipped learning is used which means that students will access lectures, assignments and practice tasks online and then attend weekly meetings with teachers where they receive training in speaking and listening in Icelandic. Students are expected to actively participate in the meetings. Weekly meetings will be on wednesdays at 16:20. Participants can expect to use 15-20 hours each week studying for the course. 

Admission criteria

Participants are expected to have Icelandic abilities at level A.2.1. when theu start this course.  Applicants take language assessment test before they start the course.

Cost 

The cost of the course is ISK 18.750. 

Grants 

Many unions offer grants to cover the cost of studies. You are encouraged to check with your union
