Checklist for cleaning student housing rooms before leaving

In your room you will have to:
  • Clean the closet inside and out
  • Remove dust from shelves and desk
  • Remove spots on walls (specially behind and under the desk and behind the bed)
  • Clean dust from pictures on the wall
  • Wash the protective mattress of the bed and put it back on again.
  • Clean window and windows panes (look for fly droppings)
  • Clean toilet, sink, mirror, and shower
  • Wash showercurtain (Notise – it can be washed in washing machine at 60°)
  • Mop the floor (remove dirt/dust from under the bed and under the shelves unit) 
  • If the room is improperly cleaned the deposit will not be refunded.
Checklist for the joint area: 
All tenants are equally responsible for cleaning the joint area.  
  • Clean the fridge inside and out and defrost the freezer and clean inside and out. (Please switch the freezer back ON after defrosting and cleaning)
  • Clean the stove, the oven and the fan of all grease
  • Clean drawers inside and out
  • Clean cabinets inside and out and on top of the cabinet
  • Clean dust from pictures on the wall
  • Clean the kitchen sink 
  • Clean the lights (look for dead flies and fly droppings)
  • Clean any stains on walls and moldings 
  • Clean the dining table and chairs
  • Clean the TV from dust and the cabinet
  • Mop the floor and remove all dust from under the sofa
  • Clean the „laundry room“ (where the freezer is) clean the sink and mop the floor. 

If joint area is improperly cleaned, the deposit will be charged from all tenants in the relevant apartment and the deposit will not be refunded.

All tenants must clean the premises thoroughly before leaving and arrange for a cleaning inspection. To schedule an inspection, contact us at phone number: 856-4595 or at the office. The opening hours at the office is from 1:00 pm to 3:00 pm. Inspections take place during regular working hours in the presence of the tenant (or tenant’s representative).

Rooms or apartments are not considered to have been vacated until an inspection of the premises has taken place.

Students will be charged for any damages to the rental property, missing/damaged furnishings and kitchenware and any extra cleaning required (if improperly cleaned). If linen  are missing or destroyed the person responsible for the room will be billed.

Vacuum cleaner is available for the exchange students at the housing office.  

Please follow the checklist closely.

Cleaning inspections are to be done only one time for each room and one time for the joint area in each apartment. If the room or the joint area is improperly cleaned the deposit will not be refunded.
