Price list for services at Bifröst University 

 
This list gives the prices for various kinds of incidental services to students who rent housing from the Bifröst University Student Housing Authority, which are not included in the rental cost of the apartment.
 
Urgent services
 
a.                  Door opening  08:00  - 17:00     kr.  1.500        
b.                  Door opening  17:00  - 22:00      “    2.500
c.                  Door opening  22:00  - 08:00      “    3.500, also on weekends and

                     holidays.
d.                 Services such as light bulb changing, unplugging drains and other

                     minor  repairs are at the renter's expense. Minimum charge per visit

                     is kr. 2.000.

                     The normal hourly rate beyond that is kr. 1.500 during regular

                     working  hours, kr. 2.500 outside regular working hours. Service is

                    dependent on  staff availability.

During working hours, 08:00-12:00 and 13:00-17:00 call 695 9908.

If you need emergency assistance or want to file a complaint due to disturbance/noice after midnight call our security guard tel: 695 9901.
 
Inspections
 
e.                 Housing inspections are made between 08:00-11:30 and

                    13:00-15:30. Please call 695 8908  before 11:00 to order

                    appointment.. The tenant or his representative has to be

                    present. 

f.                 The charge for departure from housing without an inspection, if

                    everything is  in order: kr. 5.000.
g.                 Housing inspection outside working hours costs kr. 5.000 and is

                    dependent  on staff willingness to perform the inspection.
h.                 Cleaning is at the renter's expense and charged at kr. 3500 per

                     hour.
i.                  If mattress covers are not in place (preferably clean) at inspection

                    the renter  will be charged kr. 3000.

j.                  If linen or towels are missing  or destroyed after study weekends

                    the one responsible for the room will be charged for kr. 2000.

k.                 If a trashbin is missing renter will be charged kr. 1000.

l.                  If rented furniture or kitchen ware is missing or broken renter

                    will be charged according to market price.

Other services and charges
 
k.                  Extra keys kr. 1.000 a piece.
l.                   Extra bed kr. 1.000 per month.
m.                The moving charge between comparable housing units is kr.

                    10.000, for  example when moving from a single room to another

                     comparable single room  or from a 2-room apartment into another 

                     comparable 2-room apartment, etc. This doesn't apply when 

                     moving from Skógarsel into another 3-room  apartment on campus.

Extra keys:

You´ll get them at the office (front desk).

Extra bed:

Call 695 9908 and make an appointment with our staff in the cellar of Hamragarðar, outside the storage room (húsgagnageymsla).

If you wish to use your own bed please get a permission by sending an email to halldora@bifrost.is Then you will have to make sure to bring the school´s bed back when leaving, then call 695 9908.
