How to apply International Students

An application for studies at Bifröst University shall include:

 

First:

  • An application form filled in electronically. The form is directly linked to the University Student Registration System and the basic information is derived from the National Register.

 

Second:

  • A personal letter to the Faculty Dean. (May be sent electronically to the Faculty Dean in question and the administrator of the Preparatory Department, see e-mail addresses below)
  • Copies of diplomas/transcript  of grades
  • Curriculum vita (may be sent electronically to the Faculty Dean in question and the administrator of the   Preparatory Department, see e-mail addresses below)
  • Good quality digital photograph

(Applicants for masters studies who graduated with a BS from Bifröst only need to send the application form).

The next semester starts in January 2010. Application deadline for the spring semester is December 10th 2009. Bifröst University offers a BS in Business Administration with all courses being taught in English.

Bifröst University offers three master´s programmes in English: MS in International Banking and Finance, MS in International Business and MS in Health Services Management.

 

Processing of applications begins around mid-February each year as applications begin to arrive. Applicants are advised to apply as soon as possible to increase the probability of acceptance. Applications for on-site and distance studies should be submitted at the latest on 10 June each year.

 

The University will attempt to grant equal opportunity for study, regardless of gender, age, financial position or domicile. Admission criteria include academic results, work experience, recommendations and, as applicable, interviews with applicants. Each faculty has its own conditions for admission:

Applicants to the Preparatory Department must have completed at least three years of studies at the secondary school level, studies qualifying for student loans at a specialised school as defined by the Student Loan Fund, or comparable studies. Applicants who have reached the age of 25 can apply for their work experience to be assessed as credits.

 

Applicants for basic studies in the Faculty of Business, the Faculty of Social Science and the Faculty of Law must have completed their final examination at secondary school or comparable studies.
