Students rewarded for recruiting new students
Bifröst University prides itself in its outstanding students and distinguished history. It has not been uncommon for several generations from the same family to study at the school. The university’s students have always been its best advocates with regard to new recruits. Surveys have shown that new students are frequently attracted to studies at Bifröst by the satisfaction of current and former students. For this reason, the school authorities have now decided to invest in its students instead of spending money on expensive promotion campaigns. Diverting a part of the funds intended for marketing to students will directly benefit the students themselves.
Under the new plan, students who encourage other students to apply for and gain admission to Bifröst University and take up studies at any level this summer or autumn will be rewarded with a payment of ISK 65,000, to be paid out in mid-December of this year.
This plan forms a part of the University’s internal marketing effort and will involve students directly in its promotional work, which is appropriate in light of the fact that the university's current students are its principal human resource. The new arrangement has the purpose of encouraging applications by good students. Bifröst University has high admission standards, and these will remain unchanged, but at the same time the university management believes that this approach will increase the recruitment of quality students through the intermediation of its current students.
